Announcing an exciting rezone for Masterplan client, Erich McLaurin! The subject property located at 1512 Damon Road, is a ¾ acre unplatted tract of land at the edge of a residential neighborhood in south Austin. The zoning was for a Development Reserve (DR) District, which was assigned decades ago when the property was first annexed. However, the minimum lot size required to construct a home in a DR is ten acres, which is why the rezone was necessary.
This tract is located in an area that has previously had mixed reactions to other zoning requests. The neighborhood association is actively monitoring zoning applications and organizes meetings when concerns arise. Masterplan worked with City staff members, the neighborhood association, and the surrounding property owners to establish good, strong communication at the outset of the project.
