Rolling to 100,000 Rolls of Toilet Paper

Jul 30, 2021 | Company News, Dallas

Have you ever been in the bathroom and had that sinking feeling when you realize you’ve run out of two-ply? What if you couldn’t afford to buy more? That’s a real problem hundreds of families in North Texas are facing. Masterplan proudly stands as part of the solution by donating $1,360, the equivalent of 2,000 rolls of toilet paper to Metrocrest Services!

“All of us, at some time or other, need help. Whether we’re giving or receiving help, each one of us has something valuable to bring to this world. That’s one of the things that connects us as neighbors—in our own way, each one of us is a giver and a receiver.” – Fred Rogers

It takes 100,000 rolls of toilet paper to stock the pantry for one year. Everyone experienced shortages of toilet paper when COVID-19 hit, but Metrocrest Services is still feeling the pinch. They needed help refilling their stock for the year to help the hundreds of families they support.

The story of one senior citizen in need stood out. She was at the panty stocking up on food for the week. That’s when she noticed the small stack of toilet paper. “Are we able to take this?” she had asked. She had tears in her eyes when the staff told her that it was for her and all those in need who visit. This woman had been without this often forgotten essential and had been visiting neighbors asking to borrow what they could spare.

The toilet paper fundraiser held at Cedar Creek Brewhouse & Eatery in Farmers Branch was a smashing success. There was hardly standing room due to the crowd of supporters. Celebrity waitstaff from the City of Farmers Branch fire department, police department, rotary club, and city council were there in full force.

Thank you to Farmers Branch and the surrounding community members for your support of Metrocrest Services.
