    Project Description
Sprouts Farmers Market is a grocery store that prides itself on its organic, healthy food offerings as well as sustainability initiatives. For this location on 1265 West Exchange Parkway in Allen, TX, Masterplan conducted meetings with several neighborhoods to obtain consensus on the proposal. Through this communication, issues of traffic mitigation, light pollution, screening and buffering were addressed. Some of the benefits this new Sprouts brought to the area include supporting other local retails stores as an anchor for attracting more foot traffic and offering a convenient way for neighbors to get their groceries. Masterplan was pleased to assist with this addition to the area!

    Challenges

    • Addressing lighting and screening to ensure they had a compatible development with nearby businesses and neighborhoods.

    Strategies Used

    • Met with neighbors and neighboring businesses to ensure understanding and agreement.
    • Showed how the addition of this store would not escalate traffic concerns in the area.

        Results

        • The Allen Sprouts Farmer’s Market was built and is up and running today. Retail was also approved to take place out front, and the store has been an immense success. The store offers a walkable location for neighbors to get their groceries and now offers Instacart delivery and pickup services.
